We do this with respect to the communities we do business in and the environments that we impact."  The company is seeking candidates for a Precision Ag Specialist. Must be able to work out of one of the locations listed: Mount Angel, OR; Stayton, OR; Donald, OR; Rickreall, OR; or Whiteson, OR.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Help customers and team members utilize precision tools to solve day to day problems and take advantage of new opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to agronomists, management and application teams in the area of Precision Ag systems and analytics.
  • Provide technical support to grower customers in the area of Precision Ag systems and analytics.
  • Assist efforts to sell the Precision Ag tools
  • Trouble shoot and solve problems with Precision Ag tools.
  • Support agronomists and other team members with administrative support.
  • Assist with Precision data collection, cleaning, and analysis including, but not limited to; yield data, EC data, and soil moisture data.
  • Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service.
  • Become an expert in the Valley Agronomics suite of Precision Ag Tools.
  • Follow company procedures and safety rules.
  • Travel to agronomy locations to support and train Agronomists on Precision Ag; some overnight travel may be required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background and experience in agronomy preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have a current working knowledge of computer programs.
  • Must be self-motivated to support programs success.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and the general public.
  • Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy.
  • Must have a manager focus in all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
This is a full time, 40+ hours per week position, typically Monday - Friday. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
