RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Candidates should be flexible and detail oriented with a great attitude while ensuring excellent customer service at all times. A person in this position is responsible for operation of custom application equipment in the application of fertilizer and chemicals to customer’s fields in a safe, accurate, efficient and timely manner as well as promote the proper use of crop protection products. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
 

  • Loading and mixing fertilizer formulas.
  • Ability to follow and interpret fertilizer and pesticide labels
  • Maintaining application logs and other records as necessary.
  • Reading field maps and global positioning devices.
  • Working around and handling hazardous materials properly.
  • Performing daily inspection of equipment and minor repairs as needed.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Must currently have or ability to obtain Professional Applicators license with all applicable endorsements.
  • Must have a Class A CDL with HAZMAT endorsement; or ability to obtain one. 
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public.
  • Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
 
HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40+ hours per week position, days of the week depend on location needs. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed, especially during times of high seasonal demand.
