The position of Custom Applicator is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for operation of custom application equipment in the application of fertilizer and chemicals to customer’s fields in a safe, accurate, efficient and timely manner as well as promote the proper use of crop protection products. •    Responsible for accurate application of fertilizer and/or chemicals per blend sheet specifications.
•    Maintains and repairs equipment according to maintenance schedule, policies and procedures.
•    Communicates with managers and sales staff to assure safe, accurate quality, efficient and timely application.
•    Works in any area of operation or production as assigned.
•    Interacts with customers in a professional manor.
•    Works safely following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements.
•    Exhibits attitude and actions consistent with policies.
•    Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership in his/her work and application equipment used.
•    Adhere to all commercial motor vehicle rules and regulations.
•    Respect customer property at all times.
•    Perform other duties as assigned. 

•    High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
•    Farming knowledge and application experience preferred. 
•    Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner. with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public. 
•    Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy. 
•    Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance.
•    Must have a manager focus in all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/ problem solving skills. 
•    Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
